My Curly Haired Travel Buddy

Hello Nookfinders!
I was itching to write another article to fill this page with something random when my head bulb lit up. I have great belief that life is so much easier when you have someone to share your expenses with and, I have that someone. Someone else’s face, aside from mine, will surely be all over my blog so I thought I better get you guys to know him. He is curly haired which is uncommon in Filipino men, he is cute (at least on my biased perspective), and most importantly, he is my constant headache which I am most willing to bear all my life. He is Robin.
Robin is an I.T. graduate and is now working as a Desktop Engineer . We came from the same university and I met him at the uni theatre group which he was not actually in to. When I met him, he was a very serious person. He had for the most part, a bad boy aura. Throughout our years, he changed a lot for me. He likes billiards and soccer. We shared these sports through our drinking sessions and futsal club in college. He is a good swimmer too. He taught me how to stay afloat on deep waters which by the way, did so much for my traveling. As of writing, we’ve been together for five years and nine months.
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP
I asked him out first
I heard he was going to quit the theater thing. I always caught him staring and I wondered why he was not getting my number. I asked a group of people out for a drink after rehearsals and he admitted his feelings for me during shots. Not the most romantic way to initiate a relationship but damn, it worked. Yes, I was the girl who had the invisible balls to ask the guy out.
Robin was a right away bitch who did not have to fake a goody-goody side only to disappoint you afterwards. Every time I did something wrong during the courtship, he points it out without hesitation. I often shook my head in disbelief, finding myself in awe that the guy indeed had a point and was basically right. With him, things only got better.
Robin is or “was” a letter giver. He gave me letters in white envelopes. I still receive them even up to now but not as much as before. He must’ve ran out of words to say. I would too. Haha
He once gave me homemade coupons that I can redeem. Through those coupons, He would massage me for 10 minutes straight or let me put on make-up on his face. That's how creative he sometimes get.
I got to be introduced to his grandma. Robin is a grandma boy. He said when he was a kid , he’d pick anything from the toy store and his grandma would buy it. He loved talking about his grandma even up to this date. I remember going to Xavierville that year too nervous about meeting the family but his grandma turned out to be the sweetest. Sadly, his grandma lost her fight to cancer a few years back. His family is currently my second home.
Robin’s b-day is February 14. The dilemma! When you are the girl but you have to do the extra effort on Valentines day.
As a travel buddy, Robin is quite prone to accidents and is afraid of heights but he doesn't let it ruin the fun. He's always willing to do things he is afraid of. Whenever he gets injured, he goes on not minding whether blood is dripping from his knees or elbows. He is a great swimmer so I pretty much feel safer in waters with him. Although he has more after-bath rituals than i do, he is definitely the type of travel mate you should look for. Remember, the success of your trip has great dependency on who you spend it with.
Like every relationship, we’ve had shortcomings that led us to utter hurtful words to each other. There are good days, but there are also days we wish to tear each other’s heads off. Nevertheless, we pushed through and we’re still glued.
I think for the most part, we share the same passion and hobbies that’s why we get along really well. We both crave for buffets, we travel together, we hike together, we go to the gym together. We find so much excitement on similar things. Two people with different hairdo’s but are both on-the-go.
So once again, the curly haired guy is Robin . Just so you know.
